75 Years
July 31, 2015
We are getting closer to lift off. The bags are on the bike, the refrigerator is clean, instructions for how to take care of the dog and cats are written and pet supplies have been purchased. I am so thankful I took today off (thank you Ruth!). Despite packing very little it has taken all day to get organized. Of course I colored for a few hours, went to lunch with my sister (thank you Karen!) (who by the way does not read this blog), and I went to Macy's.
The picture above was taken during our trip last year. We were so tired when we returned home that the pictures were never downloaded into the blog. In fact, I never wanted to blog again. It is harder than it looks. I still have not really committed to blogging this year, despite giving out the address and writing this one. Back to the picture though. So, Big George spent two years at the University of Oregon. When he could no longer stand the rain he packed up his little Datsun 1200 and came back to California. When we visited Eugene he showed me his dorm and told me some interesting stories about living there. People who have spent any time with us know what I'm talking about. (You cannot tell by looking at him now, but, sweet innocent George became a full blown pothead in Eugene.) Yea.
This trip was originally planned by the founding members of the Fat Riders. And John who was jumped in last year. George is the president, Dan, Mark, and John are full members. Patty (Dan's wife) and I have a half membership, and Doris (John's partner) has not been notified of her standing. Unfortunately Dan, Patty, and Mark will not be joining us this year. We will miss them. The trek to Sturgis is for the celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Sturgis. (Motorcycles taking over the town.)
Tomorrow morning we will meet Mark in Windsor, stop by the ranch to say hello, and head up to Eureka! My nook is gassed up, we have a new computer, the bike is in good shape, and the camera is ready.
Good night Sacramento,
Jenson
